There Will Be Plenty of Water

Yesterday I did something hard.

I shared publicly that I have been walking through high-functioning depression. Not from a place of having it all figured out. Not from the other side of healing. From the middle of it.

And something unexpected happened when I let it out.

When you chase what you feel, face it honestly, and choose to embrace it instead of hide it, something shifts. That's exactly what happened to me. I released it. I embraced it. And then I watched God begin to erase it and replace it with something I wasn't expecting.

The heaviness began to lift.

And then God started showing up.

When You Release It, He Moves

Later that same day, my phone rang. A real estate colleague, someone I don't even know well, someone who is not on my team, called me out of nowhere. God had laid me on her heart. She opened a door and shared an opportunity with me simply because she was obedient to what God told her to do.

Then that evening, my durable medical equipment business received a connection. Someone connected to several companies in the medical space and beyond is now positioned to help us build the structure from the ground up.

I went to bed happy. Not because everything is perfect. But because the heaviness I woke up with was gone. And in its place was the unmistakable fingerprint of God.

What He's Been Saying All Week

All week long God has been giving me the same three reminders. Over and over. Like He knew I needed to hear them before this season fully opened up.

Prayer before planning.

Presence before preparation.

Obedience before outcome.

So when I woke up this morning, I did exactly that.

I prayed first. "God, you know the plans you have for me. Plans to prosper me and give me a hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)

Then I sat in His presence. I didn't rush to my to-do list. I didn't open my phone. I just said, "Speak, Lord. Order my steps today. I want to hear from you."

And He spoke.

John 3:23

He led me to John 3:23. In the New Living Translation it reads:

"At this time John was baptizing at Aenon, near Salim, because there was plenty of water there; and people kept coming to him for baptism."

I read it once. Then twice. Then a third time.

And on the third time something jumped in my belly.

John's purpose was to baptize. His assignment was clear. And the resource he needed to fulfill that assignment, water, was already there. Not barely enough. Not just sufficient.

Plenty of it.

And the Bible says the people kept coming.

John didn't chase the water. He didn't manufacture it. He didn't beg for it or wonder if it would show up. He simply stood in his purpose and the resource was already there waiting for him. And because he was standing where God placed him — the people found him.

What God Said to Me

After the third reading I finally got it.

This is what I heard in my spirit:

"What I have purposed you to do in this season, I have also provided the resource for. There is plenty of it. And the people will keep coming for what you have been anointed to give."

Read that again slowly.

He is not saying you have to find the water. He is not saying you have to create the resource. He is saying stand in your purpose. Stand in what I called you to do. The water is already there. There is plenty of it.

And the people? They are already coming.

This Is for You Too

Maybe you've been wondering if the resources will show up. If the right people will find you. If what God placed inside of you is enough.

It is.

The question is not whether the water is there. The question is whether you are standing in your purpose or standing on the sideline waiting for conditions to be perfect before you show up.

John didn't wait for better water. He stood where God placed him and the people came.

Stand in your purpose today.

The water is already there.

There is plenty of it.

And the people will keep coming.
